Vita
Kathrin Sauter (Frey) was born in Bonndorf in the Black Forest/Germany. The soprano singer got her core education at the "College for Music and Arts Vivants Stuttgart" from Prof. Bernhard Jäger-Böhm and Prof. KS Julia Hamari. She received a further actor’s training at the "Stuttgart Opera School".
Additionally the famous Cecilia Bartoli and Hermann Prey had been important tutors for her advanced education. The operetta debut of the multiple awarded soprano as Adele in the "Fledermaus" at Heidenheim has been followed by other essetial engagements during her soloist's career, as to name: Radio station broadcasts and concerts with the "Southwest Radio Baden-Baden", Freiburg, with the "Gewandhausorchester Leipzig", the "MDR Orchestra Leipzig" and "Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra".
As a guest opera soloist Kathrin Sauter (Frey) appeared in Stuttgart (Wilhelma theatre) in the part of the "Rosina" in the "Barber of Seville", in Görlitz as the "Norina" in "Don Pasquale" and as the "Papagena" in the "Magic Flute" on nearly all open-air theatres of Germany. In 2007/08 she acted in the „Viennese Blood“ and in "Countess Mariza" in Altenburg/Gera as a guest soloist.
Regularly she guests with the "Brunswick Chamber Music Festival", the "Graz Chamber Music Festival", the "Rhinegau Music Festival" as well as the "Ettlingen Castle Festival". In summer 2008 she delivered a brilliant performance as "Saffi" ("Gipsy's baron") on the open-air theatre Altusried/Kempten.
In 2009 Kathrin Sauter (Frey) could be heared and seen in "Elektra" and "Sour Angelica" at the Frankfurt Opera. Also she takes part in the very well reviewed Johannes Felsenstein’s opera production of the "Elektra" in Dessau/Germany. At the end of this year she sings "Rosina" in Pavel Haas "Scharlatan".
In 2010 the soprano was to be experienced as the electoral princess in the "Bird's Trader" on the open-air theatre Altusried/Kempten. In August Kathrin Sauter (Frey) - orignially born in the Black Forest - impressed the audience with the authentic and winning representation of the "Black Forest Girl" which attracted thousands of spectators to the Openair stage in Titisee.
